Magnesia cupel is a small, shallow, porous container that is widely used in laboratory smelting and analysis, especially in precious metal analysis, mining laboratories, laboratory testing, mineral analysis, fire assay, and gold analysis.
Magnesia cupel is used as a container for precious metals during fire assay analysis. Its main function is to separate impurities from gold, absorbing lead oxides through an oxidation process, while gold and silver remain at the bottom of the cup in the form of alloy particles, waiting for the next step of gold separation. This process is crucial to determining the purity and composition of gold, so the quality of the cupel directly affects the analysis results.
DECENT magnesia cupel uses high-quality raw materials and a unique formula, containing about 96% magnesium oxide. It has high refractory material properties and can withstand extremely high temperatures without melting or reacting with molten metal, making it ideal for the fire assay cupellation process.
